Your business is expanding, in this economy? "We've been in business for five years and recently remodeled by adding extra space to our office, including a small boutique," owner Shari Barish Cangelosi said. "Spray-tanning is what we specialize in but we do sell some vacation items, small gifts, accessories and inexpensive jewelry. The cost for a full body spray-tan is $45."

What is spray tanning? "Just what the name implies," Cangelosi said. "A professionally trained spray-tan artist does the spraying. The tan should last between five and seven days. You can achieve a safe tan in just one session. No trips to the shore or exposure to a tanning bed. Just spray it on."

Who are your clients? "They range from a bride and groom who want to look good for their wedding pictures to body builders. We get students attending homecoming and the retirees who are on their way to visit their grandchildren. Men and women both enjoy it and age is not a factor.

Is it safe? "Absolutely. Spray-tanning will not cause cancer. We offer the ability to enjoy the appearance of a natural tan without introducing harmful UV rays into the mix. In fact, many of our clients are skin cancer survivors.

"Some clients are just looking for a natural, healthier appearance, or maybe they have a special event to attend. Others want to look like they have just returned from the islands. It is amazing how many young people are starting to come in for a quick glow since they are finally being educated about the dangers of tanning beds and sunbathing."

Why did you start the business? "I had a friend who just came back from Las Vegas with an amazing tan. Then I discovered that her tan was the result of a spray tan. I thought it was the perfect opportunity for me to do something creative while at the same time making a healthy difference in other people's lives. The timing was right."

Is having a tan really important ?"I think so," she added. "It's immediate gratification. When you look better, you feel better. It's amazing what a little glow will do for self-esteem."

Advice to entrepreneurs: "I would say definitely go for it. Do what your gut tells you and watch your back. There will always be someone who thinks they can do it better than you."
